Pro Volleyball Player and wife of NFL’s Justin Forsett, Angie Forsett always loved being in the heat of competition. Traveling both nationally and internationally to compete, Angie struggled to fight against finding her worth in her performance.
When Angie moved up to a greater level of competition, she was no longer the best player. Not used to being at the bottom of the pack, she wasn’t able to find her fulfillment in her success as an athlete.
“That was a very low point,” Angie says, looking back. “I was uncertain if I even wanted to play anymore. But I prayed and released it all. I said, “You know what, God, I know that you see me. I know that no matter who else takes notice, you see me. That’s all that matters.”
Angie found new identity and worth in the love of Jesus Christ. No longer did she feel the need to perform for approval.
“On the court where no one else is looking,” says Angie, “He’s refining me, renewing me, and making me better at everything.”
“These have come so that the proven genuineness of your faith–of greater worth than gold, which perishes even though refined by fire–may result in praise, glory and honor when Jesus Christ is revealed.” – 1 Peter 1.7
Angie and Justin continue to utilize their platform in professional sport to share their faith in Christ with others.
